This is the second in my video ‘shorts’. This one explores some of the different ways people can use their creativity to explore their voices and the often complex relationships they have with them. To me, this is a very important topic as – years ago – the idea of getting to know my voices would have seemed ‘crazy’. After all, I wanted someone to get rid of them. There are many solid reasons people might not want to get to know their voices – including how challenging it can be to hear voices that are extremely critical or commanding. This video explores why it can be helpful to find strategies to explore even these difficult voices, as well as four techniques I’ve found personally helpful to facilitate this process.
My next short thought will look at different ways of coping with distressing voices. If you have a topic you’d like me to explore in a future short, please either comment on this post or email me at [email protected].
