BBC Radio 2: Talking about hearing voices with Jeremy Vine

BBC Radio 2: Talking about hearing voices with Jeremy Vine

12 May 2021, on BBC Radio 2

A few weeks after the New Statesman article came out, I was approached by the Jeremy Vine show. They were hoping to speak to me as part of a feature around hearing voices. This was my third time on the show, but the first where I had to take part via phone rather than being […]

BBC Radio 4: My Name Is ... Rachel

BBC Radio 4: My Name Is … Rachel

8 April 2019, on BBC Radio 4

After working with Akiko Hart to create an ‘Alternative Review of the Mental Health Act’ for National Hearing Voices Network, I was keen to keep up the momentum and get people talking about the coersive end of the mental health system. Luckily, after speaking with a contact in the BBC Current Affairs dept. an opportunity […]

On BBC1 for Children In Need with Fearne Cotton

Voice Collective is an amazing innovative project supporting children and young people who hear voices, see visions or have other unusual sensory experiences. About Me

Hi. My name’s Rai. I hear voices, see visions and have a whole host of unusual experiences that have, at times, overwhelmed me. Once labelled as ‘severely & enduringly mentally ill’, I am now an independent trainer specialising in innovative ways of supporting people who struggle with extreme states (including ‘psychosis’, ‘dissociation’ and post traumatic reactions).
